I painted "Watching over me" in early 2011. For this artwork I decided to use mainly blues and greens, as to me, those two colours were the most representative of the calm environment I was trying to create for myself. The image I created symbolised spiritual beings or angels looking down from above. They were there watching over me, expressing endless joy, and comforting any anxieties that came from the hustle and bustle of life here on earth. It made me feel that I was not alone in my struggles and that everything was going to be ok in the end.
This painted presence of something undoubtedly good always make me feel a bit more relaxed about life, regardless of what is going on around me.
